Cyclone proof house.

Reading Follow up.

This week for my reading my goal was to use knowledge from text to combine with new ideas (own and others) to come up with new thinking. So for this we looked at Caritas and how they are helping Papua New Guinea. Caritas NZ has been helping Papua New Guinea since 2002. A new step that they are trying is to install 100 water tanks that can hold 9,000 Liters. Another thing is that Papua New Guinea is getting destroyed because of Cyclones and other Natrual Diasters. So me and my friend made a Cyclone proof house. I hope you enjoy it.

What do you think you could do to help the people in Papua New Guinea?

How to tie you shoes?

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I will be talking to you about my writing this week. My goal this week was to use a variety of sentences structures, beginnings and lengths to give effect. We had to take a text and edit it so it was wow. I took a text on how to tie your shoes and made it my way. Some ways I edited it was I put in words like firstly and secondly. I also put in a couple compound sentences. A compound sentence is when you add in 2 causes. Here is my finished product.

Do you know any other ways to tie you shoes?

Math task, area of shapes.

Hello Blogger.
This week I will be sharing my math with you. My goal was Use a variety of strategies to calculate the area of rectangles, parallelograms, and triangles. If you don't know what that is, it's how many mini squares are in an object. We did this for 3 shapes: Rectangles, Triangles and Parallelogram. For our DLO we had to create drawing  about it. Hope you enjoy it.

What are you learning in Maths?

Treaty of Waitangi

This week we have been learning about the Treaty of Waitangi. After we had gathered our research we had to do a DLO. That stands for digital learning object. My group did a google drawing that resembled how the British lied to the Maori. The sold sign is there for when the British stole the land. I hope you enjoy my picture.

What do you think about Waitangi day?

First Blog in 2020

This year as it begins I'm really excited to be sharing my working with you. This year I am a year 7 at St Francis of Assisi school.

In the holidays me, and my extend family went to a place called Mapua. My favorite thing that I did there was jump off a Warf and my towel hat that I got. We also went to Rabbit Island which was a beach. It had bright blue water and HOT sand. One day I wish I could go back to Mapua.

This year I'm looking forward to all the opportunities as a senior at my school. I am going to try do as many things as possible. Also I'm excited for being in Kapa haka and other events at school. Some other things that I'm excited this year is Tough kids, the Fair, all the fun day outs and Top team.

My hopes for the year are to get into Canterbury's for Athletics, Cross Country and Duathlon. Also I want to become better at my Maths and Handwriting skills. In addition I don't want to lose anything this year like I have been doing in the pass. I want to be focus this year as well.

What are you excited for this year at school?
