What Shapes are in your house?

 Hello,

This week for Maths we were learning about 2D and 3D shapes. Our Goal was: identify and sort two and three dimensional shapes into classes, defining properties and justifying the decisions made. We talked about Parallel lines which are lines that never touch. Like a Rectangle has 2 sets of Parallel lines. The top and the sides. For the create task we had to name shapes in our house. And we had to name how many Sides, Faces, Parallel sides, Edges and Vertics. Here it is.

Do you know your Maps?

Hello,

This week for Maths we learned about Maps, Compasses and grid references. Our Goal was communicate and interpret locations and directions, using compass directions, distances, and grid references. It was basically just like battle ships how you call out "A3"! For the create you hat 2 options. I went with number 2. It was to create a map and give questions with it. Here it is.

Could you get my questions?

Ethan Explains Maths.

 Hello,

This week for Maths we did some fractions questions we learned how to find a fraction from a fraction. You just have to times the number. So if we were finding out what 3/4 of 2/6 were we just do 3 x 2 = 6. 4 x 6 = 24. So the answer would be 6/24 which can be simplified to 1/4. For the create we had to record ourselves answering 2 questions. Also we had to make our own. Here is mine.

How would you work mine out?

Areas, Perimters and too much math to handle!

 Hello ,

You know this week we had HEAPS OF GOALS. And when I say heaps I mean HEAPS! Like these were our goals. use side or edge lengths to find the perimeters of rectangles, parallelograms, and triangles. Use a variety of strategies to calculate the area of rectangles, parallelograms, and triangles. Use side or edge lengths to find the volumes of cuboids. Use appropriate scales, devices, and metric units for weight (mass) and to accurately measure length. Convert between metric units, using whole numbers and commonly used decimals.

That was alot. We had to do a bunch of questions. Then for the create task we had to make a little course that will be in Top Team. Top team is a big thing that has heaps of Courses. My Course is a 3 legged race which you have to run around cones and drop off a person. We had to figure out the Perimter and Area of the Course here is mine and my friends.

Our Area is 24 meters and our Perimteter is 20 meters.
A cone is every 2 meters.
There is two teams.
Would you wanna play our game?

To Weeks of Math in 1 BLOG!!

 Hello and welcome back,

This is my first time blogging in Term 2. We have been at Swimming lessons for the first to weeks so the work has been a bit different. But none the less here is my Maths. For Maths these last 2 weeks we have been learning about 2 different things. The first week it was all about Tree Diagrams, then the 2nd week it was about a two way table. Everything we did we had to put on a slide so here is mine.

Do you like swimming lessons?

Cantamath

 Hi,

The last couple of weeks we have been doing Cantamath, Cantamath is like math but you race other people for it. We have been doing trails for ages now. We have been doing things like team challenges, induvadlie challenges and more. I really hope I make that team becuase I want to go to the competiton.

Do you think I'll make the team?

Problem solving part 2

Hi,

Here is the questions we had this week. The hardest one was 17% of 202.4 but a got it. Here it is.

What did you get for the answers?

Area and Perimeter

Welcome back,

This week for Maths we got some questions about my school, it was Area and Perimeter. Here are Questions.

Could you get the answer?

Shapes, Shapes and more shapes

Welcome back,

This week for Maths we did shapes. I was sick for most of the week so I could only do 2 task. I got some shapes and had to write how many vertics, edges and faces were on them. Here is it so I hope you enjoy.

For the second one I made shape using only triangles. Here is a photo of it.

Have you been sick yet this year?

Geometry and Measurment part 2

Hi and Welcome,

Again this week for Maths we did Geometry and Measurment. This week I did Volume, Area and Perimeter questions. The formula for Area is LxH, for Volume it is LxWxH and for Perimter you add all the sides. For the create task we had to put our answers on a slide here is mine and my mates. Hope you enjoy.

Have you ever done Geometry and Measurment?

Geometry and measurment

Welcome back.

This week for Maths we looked and Geometry and measurment. We got heaps of tasks and had to complete them.

Sorry if you can see it. Have you ever done Geometry and Measurment?

Maths

This week for Maths we had to answer some Area,Volume and Perimeter. For the create task we had to show how to solve some questions here is mine.

Do you know how to solve these questions?

Doubling and Halving

For Maths we looked at doubling and halving. Doubling and halving is when you double 1 number and half the other number. For the create task we had to show how to use the strategy. Here is mine hope you enjoy. Here is the link to mine.

Scatter Graph.

Welcome back,                                                          This week for Math my goal was to Collect and display data on a scatter graph / Talk about distinctive features of scatter graphs. We basically found out what a scatter graph is, how to tell if it is a positive trend or a negative trend and how to make a scatter graph. So that's was what the create task was. Make a scatter graph using data you found out or made up and turn it into a scatter graph. For those who don't know what a scatter graph is just go to this link.

Have you ever used a scatter graph before?

2 Way table

This week for Maths my goals were to Make and justify the probability of events in common situations and Use relative frequency to predict events. My Teacher dropped a bottle top on the ground 10 times and we had to predict how it would land. There was 3 possibilities up down and sideways. I guessed down all 10 times and got 6/10. For the create task we had to make a 2 way table of our choice and write claims and justifications about it. Justification is backing your claims with a percentage. Here is mine hope you enjoy.

What sport would you pick?

Tree diagrams.

Hello and welcome back,
This week my math goal was to Use tree diagrams to find the possible outcomes for a sequence of events. We looked at tree diagrams and how to make them. The create task was to make up a question and then make a tree diagram about it. This is mine hope you enjoy.

Have you ever made a tree diagram?

My maths chart.

Welcome back.
My math goal this week was Complete a statistical investigation by collecting, displaying and discussing data. We got to choose two variables of a bunch of different things and make a chart out of it using google sheets. Then for the create task we had to make 2 or 3 statements about it. I choose what hand year 7 & 8 prefer. Here is mine hope you enjoy.

Sorry if it is not clear.
What hand do you prefer?

Reversibility!

Hi Blogger!

This week for Maths our goal was to solve Add/Sub problems with whole numbers and decimals. We got to choose out of 3 strategies to use. They were : Reversibility, equal adjustment and Rounding and compensating. I chose reversibility. The create task was to explain the strategie and how to use it. I have made a google drawing show how to use reversibility. Hope you enjoy it.
What is your favourite strategie for maths?

Math with Basketball

Welcome back to my blog.

This post I will be sharing my math with you. My goal this week was to Use a broad range of strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems with whole numbers & decimals. For my create task I had to make a google slide then and show 2 word problems with this goal. Hopy you enjoy.

How would of you solved this problem?

Math task, area of shapes.

Hello Blogger.
This week I will be sharing my math with you. My goal was Use a variety of strategies to calculate the area of rectangles, parallelograms, and triangles. If you don't know what that is, it's how many mini squares are in an object. We did this for 3 shapes: Rectangles, Triangles and Parallelogram. For our DLO we had to create drawing  about it. Hope you enjoy it.
